ABOUT AMY

Amy Davenport lives in south Liverpool with her husband and son. She studied art at John Moores University and the University of Central England in Birmingham. After working in television for a short time Amy took up a career in sailing, gaining her skippers’ tickets and choosing to spend her time onboard traditional, largely gaff-rigged heritage sailing boats.

She spent fifteen years working with disadvantaged and disabled young people on sail training vessels and has won a number of Tall Ships’ Race legs.

She has lived in most UK maritime towns from Newcastle, to Falmouth, Ipswich and Plymouth. When not painting, she sings folk music with her family, and can be seen most summers at folk festivals across the UK with her husband Gavin and parents-in-law, Liz and Paul Davenport.
